Uploading a video to YouTube or Vimeo and embedding in iTacit

YouTube

Open your browser and search for YouTube or input youtube.ca in your address bar.

In the top right corner of the YouTube homepage, click on the upload icon.

You may drag and drop your video file or locate it from your computer.  To ensure your video is not made public, please select the “Unlisted” option. 

Your video will then upload.  Once it is done processing, click on the “Done” button. 

You will then select the “Embed” option and copy the link provided below.  To copy, right click on your mouse and select copy. 

When you have created a page in your iCourse, click the insert video icon and select the “Embed” option.  In the text box, right click on your mouse and select paste and the link from YouTube will be inserted.  Click “Ok” and you will see the video preview. 

Vimeo 

Open your browser and search for Vimeo or input vimeo.com in your address bar. 

In the top right corner of the Vimeo homepage, click on the “Upload” button. 

You may drag and drop your video file or locate it from your computer. With Vimeo, your video will be made public, unless you choose to pay an upgrade fee. 

Your video will then upload.  Once it is done processing, click on the video preview on the left of your screen. 

You will then click the “Share” button.  To copy the embedded link, double click on the text to highlight, and right click on your mouse and select copy. 

When you have created a page in your iCourse, click the insert video icon and select the “Embed” option.  In the text box, right click on your mouse and select paste and the link from Vimeo will be inserted.  Click “Ok” and you will see the video preview.
