Upload a Packaged / SCORM Course

Upload a New Packaged Course (SCORM) to iTacit

Course materials from other training content vendors can quickly be uploaded to iTacit, provided they are in a compatible format.

1. Log in to the iTacit Admin site.

2. Go to Menu > Training > Packaged Courses.

3. In the top-right corner, click New to begin uploading your packaged course.

4. Enter a clear, descriptive name in the Title field.

5. Optional: Add a summary of the course content in the Description field.

6. Optional: Use Reference Code for internal tracking or version control.

7. Choose a Permission Group to define who can manage or assign the course. Alternatively, click Change... to manually configure access.

8. Click Apply to save changes.

9. Click the Upload button and select your .zip SCORM file.

10. Click Browse... to locate the updated SCORM .zip file on your computer.

11. You must choose how the new course will be distributed. For brand new courses, either option is acceptable:

  • Option 1: Create a new version and distribute it to employees who have not started the course.
  • Option 2: Create a new version and distribute it to employees who have not started the course, as well as employees who are currently taking the course.

12. Once selected, click Upload to begin the process.

13. Click Apply to save changes.

14. Select Preview to view how the course will display.

15. Click Done to close the window.

The most recent modification to the Packaged Course will be date-stamped in the section Course Upload History (i).

 

Upload a New Version of the Packaged Course (SCORM) to iTacit

Uploading a new version of a SCORM package allows you to refresh course content without disrupting existing catalog items or learner transcripts. This process helps maintain consistency, supports compliance, and enhances the learner experience.

1. Log in to the iTacit Admin site.

2. Go to Menu > Training > Packaged Courses.

3. Use the Search bar to find the course you want to update. Click on the course to open a new tab.

4. Click Upload to upload a new version of this course.

5. A pop-up window will prompt you to confirm the upload. Select Yes to proceed with the upload.

6. Click Browse... to locate the updated SCORM .zip file on your computer.

7. You must choose how the new version will be distributed:

  • Option 1: Create a new version and distribute it to employees who have not started the course.
    • This option is ideal when you want to preserve progress for learners who are already taking the course.
  • Option 2: Create a new version and distribute it to employees who have not started the course, as well as employees who are currently taking the course.
    • Employees currently taking the course will lose all progress and must retake the course using the new version.

8. Once selected, click Upload to begin the process.

9. Click Apply to save changes.

Once the upload is completed, the course will be listed under the Course Upload History section with a timestamp. This timestamp helps track when the course was added, ensuring better organization and easier reference.
